Marshall Elliott

Born in 1976, Oakland resident Marshall Elliott has been making visual art works for the past 15 years. With materials as diverse as wood, steel, logs, motors, and ice, he conceives of his practice as thinking with objects about issues such as incongruity, absence, and control. With a sense of levity, many of his works explore the use of “site-revealed” projects, whose origin lies in the inspiration of the place they encounter.
